Dance with my father - Luther Vandross
11.28.04 (9:57 pm) [edit]
|

Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then Spin me around ‘til I fell asleep Then up the stairs he would carry me And I knew for sure I was loved If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him I’d play a song that would never, ever end How I’d love, love, love To dance with my father again When I and my mother would disagree To get my way, I would run from her to him He’d make me laugh just to comfort me Then finally make me do just what my mama said Later that night when I was asleep He left a dollar under my sheet Never dreamed that he would be gone from me If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him I’d play a song that would never, ever end ‘Cause I’d love, love, love To dance with my father again Sometimes I’d listen outside her door And I’d hear how my mother cried for him I pray for her even more than me I pray for her even more than me I know I’m praying for much too much But could you send back the only man she loved I know you don’t do it usually But dear Lord she’s dying To dance with my father again Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream

Whenever I hear this song on the radio when I am driving, my eyes would be filled with tears that wants to flow down freely but can't because I can't let anyone see that I am crying because of the song. I have no choice to be strong in front of others and when I am laying in my bedroom alone, tears will flow freely on my pillow while I cry myself to sleep remembering all the memories I have of my dad.

I wasted 3 weeks like that
11.26.04 (8:23 am) [edit]
This week marks the 3rd week since I started my semester break of two months from INTI College. Sure, I should be having fun and resting but what have I done so far?
Nothing I guess.
I am half way at keeping my room coordinated. Stacking boxes of old books and magazines to give away to whoever is interested. Getting rid of old notes and old useless stuff which I should have thrown ages ago. This includes old bus tickets, movie receipts, etc. All have their own rememberence of a certain occassion but in my room, it stands out as rubbish piling up. So, until today, I have thrown away 2 big plastic bags of rubbish. I can't seem to do anything with the rest of the stuff inside my room. My mum wanted me to practise minimalization but it is quite impossible for me especially in such a short time.
Had steamboat dinner at Hornbill SteamBoat with Ah Lee, Cherry, Fiona and Davin a few hours ago. It was a packed night. All 10++ tables was packed with customers. We were lucky to have the last table and because we arrived late, most of the food has already be taken by the other 'hungry people'. Tsk Tsk Tsk. I think I was full not because of the food but because I had two tin of coke.
Fiona had finished her last paper for her exams at Swinburne and today marks the beginning of her holiday. Good luck for you holiday! especially on planning how to spend the whole 2 months. sigh~
BB the stupid yet adorable puppy has been aiming at biting my foot the last few days. I know dogs are color blind but does my foot look like a 'biting-thingy' ? Damn dog.
Didn't manage to meet Sarah nor have lunch with her since she came back and then she left for Johor yesterday. Darn luck, I tell you.
I think I watched all the vcd(s) I found around the house and now is 'pia-ing' a Taiwan series drame title "The Rose" or "Qiang Wei Zhi Lian". It has a total of 26 VCDs and the average lenght of a VCD is around 70 minutes. I bought it a last year and had watched it finish already but since it is a good series, I don't mind watching it again.

The Sypnosis I found. For fans of Taiwanese girl band, S.H.E, this drama is a must to watch. For those who are not yet fans, after watching this drama, you'll fall in love with them, especially with Ella, as she is really endearing in it.
Bai He (Ella) is a chubby and plain-looking girl and the story starts with her being dumped by her boyfriend for a prettier girl. When she returns home, she finds that her grandmother has passed away. This portion is especially sad, when Ella reads a letter left by her grandmother. From the letter, she finds out that her mother, who abandoned her when she was young, is actually Han Li (Ye Tong), a famous and beautiful actress.
Thus, Bai He sets out to look for her mother; armed with some sort of a document that proves that she is really Han Li's daughter. As she is struggling with her bags along the slope that leads to Han Li's house, she meets this guy who is extremely aloof and refuses to help her. When she finally reaches the house, she is surprised to find the guy entering it.
It turns out that he is her half-brother Han Jin (Jerry Huang). In that family, there are three siblings, whose fathers are all different. Fu Rong (Lu Ming Jun) is the eldest daughter, followed by Jin, then Kui (Brian Zheng). Their names all represent flowers, and they are all blessed with good looks. Thus they are doubtful when Bai He claims to be their sibling, until she produces the document. There is a funny moment here when Kui whips out a baseball bat to threaten Bai He.
When Han Li returns, she allowed Bai He to stay, but she treats Bai He like a maid. She also does a very shocking thing by cutting away Bai He's long hair.
The Han family is made up of very weird people. Fu Rong is the cold, distant beauty who stays at home everyday. She is also an observant person. Jin is cold towards Bai He, but when he's drunk, he becomes very gentle towards her, and has the habit of going to her room at night to sleep next to her. Kui is like a childish mischievous kid, and he has a crush on his brother Jin.
But as Bai He stays with them, they all learn to accept her as part of the family. One day, Bai He finds out that Han Li is actually not her real mother. Her mother is actually Han Li's best friend. Another shocking revelation is that although she is not related to Jin and Fu Rong, she is related to Kui. That is because Bai He and Kui share the same father. Han Li had an affair with her best friend's boyfriend, who is Bai He's father, while married to her fourth husband.
Kui is extremely upset when he found out, because he has started to develop feelings for Bai He, and he does not wish to be related to her. They also do not tell Jin the truth, as they are worried that he would not be able to accept it. Bai He is the only one who has been able to bring back a little warmth to him, ever since his girlfriend, Qin (Selina) died. If Jin finds out that Bai He isn't his sister, he will ignore her, and sink back to depression.
Thus begins a triangle relationship. Bai He likes Jin, while Kui likes Bai He. Jin has feelings for Bai He, but he doesn't admit it, and keeps saying that Bai He is only his sister.
There are many things that happen in between, which is going to be extremely long to write, so I'll leave it to you all to watch the show.
But in the end, Jin finds out the truth, and finally admits his feelings. Bai He and Jin also begin a relationship, But that doesn't mean that is the end of their problems. They face opposition from Han Li, but fortunately, in the end everything works out.

Found a good poem
11.22.04 (10:08 pm) [edit]
IF I KNEW
If I knew it would be the last time That I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,! I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, Well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything just right.
There will always be another day to say "I love you," And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do?"
But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight.
So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today, and whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear
Take time to say "I'm sorry," "Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay." And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today.
Daddy, though there is alot of "If Only" in my head, I thank you for the memories and times you have shared with us. Even though no amount of photos, videos, and voice messages can replace this feeling of missing you but I thank you that these things exist to remind us how great of a father you were to us.
I miss you daddy Adrienne

Updates on Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia
11.21.04 (6:38 am) [edit]
And so Jemima wants updates on Kuching. Jem, what kind of updates are you looking for anyway?
Okay, let's see. The SPM exams will continue again tomorrow (monday). I am unsure on how long the exams will go one but I think Bryan has 6 more papers to go. Good luck to all SPM sitters. Enough of Raya and Deepavali holidays okay. Two weeks is already enough leave for you people!!
Tepu Freda and Uncle Roland is in town. They will be having dinner tomorrow night. A part-time student was killed while his girlfriend was beaten up near Sarawak State Library's compound last Tuesday night. Though the incident has no effect on the library being full in the mornings and afternoon but by the evening past 6pm, the library will be like an empty ghost town with only few humans walking and sitting around in the library.
Tomorrow morning, I will bring BB (my sister's pet puppy) to the vet because he had trouble passing motion and bleed a bit. Must have been something he ate. My sister can't bring him because she starts her exams tomorrow.
Good luck to all at Swinburne University !!

Takashi Kashiwabara
11.16.04 (9:29 pm) [edit]
|

Name: Takashi Kashiwabara
Date of Birth: 16 March 1977
Horoscope: Pisces
Place of birth: Yamanashi, Japan
Blood Type: Type A
Family members: Parents, 1 younger brother, 1 younger sister
One of my favourite drama which Takashi acted in includes Love Letter (1995) and below is the summary of the movie by Todd K. Bowman.
Hiroko Watanabe's fiancé Itsuki died two years earlier in a mountain climbing accident. While looking through his high school yearbook, Hiroko in a fit of grief decides to write a letter to him using his old school address. Surprisingly she receives a reply, not from her dead husband, but from a woman also named Itsuki whom had known Hiroko's husband in school. A relationship develops between the two women as they continue to exchange letters and share memories of the dead Itsuke.
The Story
The show starts with Hiroko lying in the snow, thinking about her fiance, Fujii Itsuki(m), who had died three years ago. He had fallen off a cliff while snow-trekking a mountain with some friends. It is now his death anniversary.
Back at his house, Hiroko finds his high school yearbook in his bedroom, which has been untouched since his fatal accident. She manages to find a home address under the name 'Fujii Itsuki'. However, his mother says that their old house has been demolished and being in its place now, is a highway. Despite so, Hiroko decides to write Fujii(m) a letter directed to that address as she misses him too much.
A few days later, Hiroko is surprised to receive a return letter. It turns out that the address which she has found, belongs to a girl who bears the same name - Fujii Itsuki. At first, Itsuki (girl-Fujii) is baffled by Bozi's letter. But later, she seems to recollect some of her old memories and realises the Fujii(m) whom Hiroko has been talking about, is her three-year classmate from high school. From then on, the two girls start to write letters to each other, sharing their memories on Fujii(m). Itsuki is unaware that Fujii(m) is already dead.
Flashbacks
Bearing the same name, the boy and girl were teased by all their classmates. They were even voted to do library duty together. However,Fujii(m) did not help the girl at all and only concentrated on reading his books
One day, while he was standing by the window, engrossed in his reading, Itsuki looked at him intently and seemed to be thinking about something. Fujii(m) also liked to borrow 'weird books' (mostly heavy Literature) and wrote the name - Fujii Itsuki, in every loaning record card found in the books
Once, the teacher gave back the wrong test papers to the two Fujii Itsukis, and the girl specially waited for him by the school bicycle stand till night just to exchange back their papers. She found out that Fujii(m) had drawn a picture of a sexy girl on the back of her paper.
When Itsuki tried to introduce a girlfriend to him, he got angry and threw a paperbag over her head while she was on her bicycle.
When the girl's father died of an illness, she stayed at home for a few weeks to take care of the household. One day, Fujii(m) unexpectedly paid a visit to her house and told her to return a library book for him. It was a very thick novel. Itsuki asked why he did not want to return the book himself, but the latter made no reply
The girl suddenly laughed and the guy felt embarrassed
Later, she kept looking at him while he rode off on his bicycle.
When Itsuki went back to school one week later, she found out that Fujii(m) had transferred to another school. She become very angry and upset
From then on, she lost touch with him
........................................................
Hiroko pays a surprise visit to Itsuki's house but does not manage to find her. Later on the streets, she runs into her and is shocked to discover that both of them look very much alike. While talking to Fujii(m)'s mother, she breaks down into tears and says that she will never forgive Fujii(m) if he had chosen her just because she holds a striking resemblance to Itsuki.
On Hiroko's request, Itsuki takes photographs of Fujii(m)'s old school to send to her. There, she meets her old teacher. She pays a visit to the library and is introduced to a group of librarians. The group of girls laughingly tells Itsuki that they have started a contest to find all books bearing the name - Fujii Itsuki. The record has been 87 books so far. When Itsuki tries to explain that it was another guy who wrote the name, they tease her for being his girlfriend.
Itsuki finally finds out from her teacher that Fujii(m) had died three years ago.
Meanwhile, Fujii(m)'s friend, Shigeru, who is in love with Hiroko, brings her to the mountain, where the accident had taken place, in order to help her get over Fujii(m)'s death.
One stormy night, Itsuki faints due to a high fever and her grandpa carries her all the way to the hospital. While she is recuperating in the hospital, it seems that she can sense Hiroko shouting for Fujii(m) on the mountain
When Itsuki is discharged, she receives a letter from Hiroko. In it, Hiroko has written
"Are you sure Fujii(m) wrote his name on the loaning cards just for fun? I have this feeling that in actual fact, he was writing your name."
One fine day, the group of librarians pay a surprise visit to Itsuki's house and hands her a book. It is the book which Fujii(m) had told her to return for him years ago. Under the girls' urging, she opens the book and takes out the book loaning card. She turns it over and gasps
On it, is a picture sketch of her, done by Fujii(m).
It turns out that while they were together in high school, Fujii(m) had been in love with Itsuki all along. Though Itsuki had looked at the same loaning card many years ago, she never did turn it over and thus, never did find that picture sketch of her.
However, it is too late now as Fujii(m) is already dead...
Itsuki starts to cry...
Until now, Itsuki still cannot find the courage to send this letter to Hiroko
Perhaps years ago, Itsuki herself had already fallen in love with Fujii(m) too...
Title of the book:
"Ale Recherché De Temps Perds"
(Remembering the times when you were young)

3rd Day of Hari Raya Festival
11.16.04 (3:53 am) [edit]
Today I went to Captain Asha house for Hari Raya. She lived opposite of Mango Tree Thai Restaurant in the goverment flat. I love the government quaters. I had nice nasi briyani and chicken curry and salad there which her husband, Zulkifri made. It was delicious and us being hungry eat so much, we were all stuffed. ha ha ha. Aunty Daisy and Roderick went there too.
Yesterday, we went to Sharifah Mordiah house, YB Rohani, and a couple of mum's friends house. And we ate and ate and ate. I loved the rendang served at S.M's house and the wonderful pizza at Rohani's house. Rohani house was retro in style who ideas came from her son. He have very good taste and talent in art and creative things. I admire his talent. It was all red and brown and white in color.
On the first day of Raya which was on the Sunday. I visited at the amount of 10 houses. Can you just believe that? A total of 10 houses from 11.30am till 10pm at night and we ate and ate and ate. I feel so bloated and tired nowadays but it was worth it. I love Malay food and it is especially nice during the Raya season.

Daddy
11.13.04 (6:17 am) [edit]
|
Some wordings I came across randomly while surfing the net today. It was nice to I decided it would be best to share it with you.
"If there is another world, he lives in bliss. If not another, he made the most of this."
"Each life is like a letter of the alphabet. Alone it can be meaningless. Or, like his beautiful years with us, it can be part of a great meaning"
"He always stood for what was right and good. And for this we shall forever cherish his memory."
"He achieved success here because he lived well, laughed often and loved much. We'll forever miss you, Daddy!."
"His true wealth was in his generous heart. And what endless wealth he did have."
Daddy, I miss you so much. This year we won't be doing any visiting to your friends house as we always did in the past year because it won't be as cheerful as it was and also because we don't know the way to your friends house.
Daddy, I wonder how would we go through all the festivals now when you are no longer with us.
Daddy, you were our driver for the day and now it seems that without you, we are lost.
God, give us the wisdom to realise that no matter what have happened that daddy will always be with us eventhough not physically but spiritual with us everyday.
Amen

Deepavali on 11th November 2004
11.11.04 (6:27 am) [edit]
I woke up around 9am this morning with good mood to do some 'house-visiting'. I called Kavitha up to confirm when will be the appropriate time to visit her house and then I call Sheela. It was the confirmed that I would visit Sheela's house first at 12pm and then later to Kavitha house at 3pm. The whole journey was filled with laughter and jokes whiched I missed since I left Form 5 in 1999. Fiona followed me to get free lunch. ha ha ha
On the way to Sheela's house in Batu Kawa, I went to picked up Pamela. It seems that she does not celebrate Deepavali.. why? I didn't ask so don't ask me la. Anyway, Annabel was in 10th mile at that time and she has to find her own way to Batu Kawa la. Only today did I realised that Annabel no longer live in Batu Lintang since her father retired from Sesco almost 3 years ago.. you can see now why I miss so much of my form school life. Hearing all these stories and news from Pamela, I felt like a hermet lost for the last 5 years.
Anyway, when we reached Sheela house, she was dressed in green and as pretty as ever. She is doing very well in Universiti of Technology Malaysia (UTM) in Johor. I think she was offered by the uni to continue her Masters in civil engineering. way to go girl!! I enjoyed the mutton curry and the briyani rice. I enjoyed it so much I went for another helping. LOL
Her younger brother, Manosh grew up tall and good looking until Pamela and Fiona keep teasing each other and he was so shy and he noticed that this two girls older than him was sending false signals to him.. ha ha ha.. he was so shy about it that he stayed most of the time in the kitchen. Mind you, Pamela is 22, Fiona is 19 and I think Manosh is only 18 or 17. Ha Ha Ha
What caught my attention was the guy who is a friend of Sheela's neighbour. He was cute and maybe it was his attire appeal that attracts me.. WOW. I have to remind Sheela to get information about this mysterious guy from her brother. YUm YUM.. lol He drove a gold/brown proton...
After that the four of us (Me, Fiona, Annabel and Pamela) said our goodbyes and thank yous to Sheela and her parents and we left for Kavitha house. It was a long time since we last meet each other.. and she is still the cubby nice and wonderful girl i met in Rumah Merah in Form 1. Now a working woman, she is considered the most successful among the friends at the current moment because she can pay for herself now and is working. The rest of us are still studying and depending on our parent's money. I felt so pathetic la. Oh well... and I had two more serving of Briyani rice, Mutton curry, chicken curry and roti canai at Kavitha's house.. yum yum but was so stuffed with food that I almost regretted eating so much.. Only once a year, nevermind la hoh.
Jaisation and Kailash is not celebrating Deepavali this year because they will celebrate for Christmas. Prabakaran won't be opening his house too I guess. So, on this coming sunday I will follow my sister to visit her friend, Sarasivan who is also Prabakaran's cousin.
To all my friends in KL or anywhere else. Happy Deepavali eh~~~especially to Ilaveni, Joan, Shamini, Pravathy, Shantini and Shamini twins, Vinod and Sashi. Have a good time opening your house...!!!!
Happy Deepavali!
